SACPVP derives its authority from the Property Valuers Profession Act, 2000, which mandates the Council to:





To create a transformed Property Valuers Profession that is of world-class valuation standards.

To develop and implement strategies that achieve measurable goals and objectives, enabling the Council to effectively regulate the profession and gauge its success in fulfilling its mandate.
As a recognised regulator, SACPVP is responsible for:
Setting standards for education, training, and professional competence
Registering Professional Valuers, Professional Associated Valuers, and Candidate Valuers
Maintaining an up-to-date register of all registered persons
Enforcing a Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct
Investigating complaints of improper conduct and applying disciplinary measures where required
Protecting the public interest and promoting trust in valuation outcomes
In pursuit of its mandate, SACPVP focuses on the following strategic pillars:
Regulating the conduct of registered persons in their dealings with the public
Providing advisory services to both private and public bodies
Protecting the interests of the public in their interactions with registered persons
Promoting utilisation of and compliance with the International Valuation Standards (IVS)
